As a founder & CEO of Quantumhunts, I get to spend time talking to freshers and experienced professionals who seek my support for their career growth. I get an average of 20 messages on LinkedIn everyday asking for job opportunities and career recommendations. And some of these professionals book personal career consultation sessions with me to crack the job market. Here is the process that I follow to help these professionals grow in their career - especially when they are in the market for a new job opportunity.

Learning a Niche Skill: In today's dynamic job market, it's crucial to identify and acquire in-demand skills. By honing a niche skill that the market desperately needed, one can set themselves apart from other applicants and gain a competitive edge. For each industry and market, the niche skill is different and this is what professionals who consult me do not realise when they get started but get to uncover during the discussion. Developers whom I consult state that they are proficient in Java but in the current market Python with AI & ML is the niche skill.

Working on practical Projects to Showcase Skills: Hands-on experience is invaluable when it comes to proving your expertise. I encouraged job seekers who consult me to participate in relevant projects and gain practical exposure, allowing them to demonstrate their skills effectively during the interview. I also help these professionals get their first job offer through the Quantumhunts job platform.

Building a Strong Profile: A well-crafted profile can leave a lasting impression on potential employers. Together, I’ve worked with some of these professionals to craft their personal profiles and resume, highlighting their unique qualities and professional achievements. There are a lot of inhibitions in the minds of job seekers - especially freshers from college and women job seekers seeking opportunity after their maternity on how their profile should be designed.

Some of the most experienced professionals think that they can stand out without building their profile. However they will need to realise that there would be a lot of other professionals like them - having the same skillset, similar project experience and paychecks. If you are in the job market and you are not getting interview calls it means those job opportunities are getting closed without recruiters reaching to you or perhaps they don’t know that you exist.

Creating a Supportive Network: Networking is a powerful tool for career growth. Those who join our personal consultation session learn the importance of building a network of like-minded professionals and supportive friends who can provide guidance, referrals, and opportunities along the way. In fact, building a strong network is the first course of action that I recommend professionals to apply because it takes a long time for a strong professional network to be built.

Maximising Opportunities: To increase their chances of success, I often encourage job seeking professionals to apply for as many suitable job opportunities as possible. This proactive approach allowed them to explore various options and find the perfect match. If you are looking for ‘head’ while tossing a coin, you will need to toss your coin as many times as possible till your coin lands on ‘head’.
