Let's have a quick view of who are Millennials, what are startups, and why startups are chosen over corporations as the best place to work.

Who are Millennials?
Generation Y who are, the demographic cohorts, succeeding Generation X and preceding Generation Z, are the Millennials. The 1980s to early 2000s is considered to be the birth year span for this generation. They are also termed as digital natives, due to their familiarity with technologies, social platforms, and the internet. The Great Recession and COVID-19 recession have had a major impact on this generation because they have caused historically high levels of unemployment among young people.

A startup is an initiative taken up by entrepreneurs to bring the product which is developed by them, into the market. Startups are often funded by the team or families of the team until the business takes off. The first few years are the most crucial year of a startup.

Half of the population of millennials prefer startups as the best place to work. There can be many reasons as to why startups are chosen over corporations. The generation is considered lazy, though there is a lot more to them. They seek meaningful jobs, jobs are more than money to this generation. They seek satisfaction out of what they do and accordingly choose for themselves. They are more vocal about their needs and need control over their work, also they get flexible work times and no rigidity to dress up, which is a trait mostly unacceptable in a typical corporation. Growing with the startups is growing your ability to adapt to changes and learning to be prepared for all the uncertainties. Startups may not be the best place to work for you if you don't have these skills, as they have a small team and fewer resources compared to the corporations. You should be ready to work in many areas if needed, even if your job title explains only a certain set of responsibilities. The uncertainties that cross your path teaches you to face the biggest problems of life in the long run.
This makes you a more dynamic and resourceful person.

The startups are the best place to work because you own the authority for the work you do. Your work is highly visible to everyone on the team. You don't feel like just another employee of the company, but your work is highly considered, seen, and appreciated. In a startup, every work done is valued and is meant to be effective for the firm to grow. And appreciation always brings forward the best performance of the person. And the visibility of the contribution and person gives a reason why startups are the best place to work.

ENVIRONMENT
Startups have members who are highly motivated and hardworking to bring the idea into reality which makes it the best place to work, because, by the end, all you need is motivation and positivity. A positive surrounding always keeps you positive. Positivity in the workspace is really important to bring success to the picture. Not only that, but the passion that surrounds you also makes you passionate about the work you do. The environment collectively made out of the members and their positivity and passion, always helps the company succeed.

EXPLORATION
Working with a startup teaches you a lot about entrepreneurship. You explore what it means, and what it takes to be an entrepreneur. You explore the areas, the challenges, the advantage, and as well as the amount of dedication, passion, and hard work it takes. You explore your ideas, to build something, and explore how to bring that into the picture.

EXPERIENCE
The experience with startups will be far different from the experience you would have had in a corporation. The startups aren't as rigid as a corporation, you get to work in a different kind of environment. You experience something other than a 9 to 5 job. You get random work timing, fewer restrictions, you can be open about ideas and feedback.
